Privacy Policy

The app creates a BookLoggy account for your installation. We process account and device identifiers, an optional verified recovery email, nickname and profile details, your library, reading sessions, goals, challenges, notes, quotes, reviews, collections, follows, blocks and reports. We also process subscription status and purchase identifiers, optional avatar/media uploads, push tokens when notifications are enabled, and technical data such as IP addresses, error logs and request times. We do not receive your Apple payment-card details.

We use this data to deliver the service, synchronize your account across devices, calculate reading progress, verify BookLoggy+ access, send requested notifications, respond to support, protect users and prevent abuse. Where applicable, our legal bases are performance of our service contract, legitimate security interests, legal obligations and your consent for optional device permissions.

Public profile information and content you choose to publish may be seen by other readers. Private content is not intentionally made public. Book search uses Open Library, which receives search queries; Apple handles App Store transactions and push delivery; email delivery and hosting providers process only the data needed to deliver their services. Processing may involve transfers outside your country, subject to applicable safeguards. We require service providers to protect personal data and use it only for the agreed service, consistently with this policy. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

You can change visibility settings, block or report users, turn off notifications, and delete your account in Settings → Account. Deleting an account removes its linked BookLoggy data across devices; some limited security records may be retained when necessary for fraud prevention or legal compliance. Apple subscriptions must be cancelled separately. To request access, correction, deletion or other privacy rights (including rights available under GDPR), email [email protected]. Where applicable you may complain to your data-protection authority.

We retain personal data while needed for the service and applicable legal and security needs; backup copies and limited records may persist for a necessary period. We use technical and organizational safeguards, but no service is risk-free.
